esterday and our arrival in Landada was greeted by hot sunshine but today is chilly drizzle. I have even got out the long trousers and jumper!!! Not that we have not had our fair share of warm weather but just a little disappointing but we have put the heating on and got the books out and done nothing all morning. The plan was to go to the supermarket and get some supplies on our bikes so instead we are on store cupboard lunch and dinner. Thankfully the site sells bread so we are bunkered in. Graham ventured to the beach yesterday but I hate sand and avoid it like no tomorrow. As for swimming in the sea. Forget it Fish poo, sand and other stuff I just don't want to think about Not for me. !!!! Cement ponds (Beverley Hillbilly style) were built so you could see what was in the water and not have to deal with stuff. Far better in my opinion
Well it cleared up so we went for a walk. About 2miles. !!! Getting fitter by the day, but no shops so no provisions
Drizzle again today for our move to Le Folgoet Packing up took no time at all !!! What a lovely little town with guess what..... A big Church, which we were parked right behind on the aire. Took a stroll round the village tonight and decided that there was not enough to do for another night here so moving onto Landermeau which has an inhabited 16th century bridge and is where the sea meets the river. We walked around the old town and called in at The Office de Tourism for a map and this place has a lot of history. Very strange to see buildings on a bridge. It has been like that since 1336 but was rebuilt in 1510 having a mill and a jail on it Fires have damaged it and it's a miracle it's survived but it has Here ends today's history lesson on a little known place in Brittany.
On another note the aire we are on is great 6 euros including electricity on what used to be a campsite so marked out bays with hedges for privacy On the down side the water was not working but we saw a 'council worker' and after much gesticulation he got the message and opened up the back of the machine and let us fill up with water. Now this should have cost us another 2 euros but he refused any money so a winner !!! We are stopping for 2 nights so another walk around the town is planned for tomorrow but if the weather is as it was today. Sitting in the sun will take precedence It was really warm today, so much so I had to sit in the shade for a while. What's all that about eh. But this is what we are here for. The alternative lifestyle is a winner and loving it.
Well we are now 70 euros lighter Poppy needed the vet today with her ear. So stuff to clean it and stuff to make it better, following a visit to the wonderful Office de Tourism to find out where the vets was, then a visit to the vets and an appointment for lunch time. Then a visit to the bar to gird our loins !!!!!! Then to the vets and now all seems well WE HOPE
