A Travellerspoint blog

What a week that was....

sunny

So much has happened since I last did this blog… We have left the Walkers today but have spent a really good week with them all be it they lived up to their names …. oh and did they make us walk. Whist in Mont St Michael they made (all be it in the form of an offer) to walk to Pontsorosa… some 10 miles there and back (yes miles) from our campsite. But it was a pleasant walk along the river, the dogs enjoyed themselves, Kim and I nattered as so did Barry and Graham. We discussed where we were going and Kim and Barry decided to accompany us to Dinard and we booked into a really nice site there. We booked in for 3 nights. http://en.saint-malo-camping.com Copious amounts of wine were consumed by Kim and I and the lads had beer. We barbied the first night and we walked into town, some 6.5 miles return the next day. Its a lovely well heeled city with some interesting buildings… one house looks like the house from Psycho and there is also a statue of Alfred Hitchcock on the front. But we think that is to do with the Film Festival held there. We partook of a little wine and shared a pizza as we were going to eat in the campsite restaurant on the second night. Graham has Lebanese meal along with Kim and Barry…. Humous Falafel etc.. me I stuck to the burger but that was because I cannot eat a lot these days…But they all said how great it was. Graham and I were shattered (not used to walking!!!) so we went to bed early. On the next day we set out for the boat to St Malo. I didn’t realise it was a walled city and very well fortified and famed for its Corsaire action… We walked the walls and looked at the tat shops and the designer shops and then before returning back we partook of COFFEE…..we decided to leave the drinking till later in the day. Need to have everything in moderation, don’t you know…Today we walked about 7 miles odd….I will be 6 ft shorter by the time we get back and I am only 5 ft now….Poppy is feeling her age and is shattered, so we have moved to Quintin today to a very nice free aire Carpark with fields behind by what I think is a playhouse. BUT not before trying two other aires that were either shut or just not nice. But hey ho plan B…. Graham is now snoring as I think the walking and then driving here today has taken its toll. Think we will just rest up. We have food (thanks Carefour) and we have wine and beer, so no need to walk into Quintin today… maybe tomorrow. Film tonight (thanks to James, my son in law, for downloading loads to keep us happy on our travels) The weather is very warm and sunny. OK now for the photos…. there are some in my gallery that I have not included here but this is just a selection….so enjoy. Please note the blue skies where they appear…. don’t want to make you too jealous but thought I would mention it...
