Well yesterday all 3 of us did nothing. Graham and Poppy slept for about 3 hours, I too had a snooze but it was so hot and stifling Silly me then went and made Cajun Chicken for tea, just to warm things up a bit !!!!! The van next door had a good old natter (well for hours actually) with some other French people. They got the wine out and the aperitif out but even though on an aire and we are not allowed to sit outside we could hear every word. Shame would could not understand any of it !!! But they all jabber at the same time No pause for breath. Anyway they departed to their own vans at 9pm so we put on some crappy American shoot em up movie. Hope they liked it Hehe
Today we have taken a slow meander around Quintin and the market. Everything from a pair of knickers to live chickens for sale. Called in at Office de Tourism and made plans for our 10 min hop to next air.... Don't want to rush things. Had a bit of rain so air cleared but expecting 24 this afternoon. Hard life Eh
We went back to the town in the afternoon and called in the Tabac for a little liquid refreshment and I asked for a Rose wine...... They gave me a bloody egg cup. !!!! Graham found it hilarious as he sipped his half pint !!!! Grrr
We spent another night on the aire and then set out for the next one we had seen it was only 15 mins away and by a lake. Very nice but we decided a bit isolated so we set off for the next one and spent 15mins on the small single track where the farmer had put an electric fence a cross the road to bring in the cows!! Oh well French rural life is slow paced.
We arrived at a beautiful aire overlooking the estuary at Treguiers and spent a pleasant afternoon walking around the town and watching the tide come in Oh and the fish jumping in beautiful warm sunshine. Graham even washed up after tea. Mind you I did do a beautiful rump steak mushrooms and salad. With the obligatory baguette There were a lot of campers there for the night and most had moved off before we even woke. But our alternative lifestyle allows us the occasional sleep in
Today we moved to Saint Pol de Leon, another aire but overlooking the sea. We are parked at the moment waiting for the tide to come in and the sun to shine. Looking decidedly misty. We have walked into town (My mileage per day is far better than at home) for a couple of baguettes. As I write I am sipping vino and just finished lunch. It's late but hey ho no rush
Brittany has more churches than I have had hot dinners. There are 3 in the town here and it's only the size of Congleton So today's pics are full of old churches and old building. Enjoy
